Our story
GS Appliance started in Colchester in 2013 with a straightforward idea: local people deserve honest advice about their appliances, from a team that would rather fix something than sell them a replacement they don't need.
More than a decade and 23,000 repairs later, that's still how we work. We're a family-run firm, not a national call centre — the office is in Colchester, the engineers run daily rounds across Essex and Suffolk, and much of our work comes from repeat customers and personal recommendations.
Along the way we've grown from repairs into professional oven cleaning, appliance installation, recycling, and dedicated support for landlords, letting agents and property managers.

How we work
Repair before replace
If your appliance can be repaired economically, we'll tell you so — and if replacement is genuinely the better call, we'll tell you that too. Repairing saves money and keeps appliances out of the waste stream.
One-off labour charge
Most repairs are a single one-off labour charge plus any parts, discussed up front. Not an hourly meter, and no surprises on the invoice.
The GS Repair Guarantee
Repairs are covered for three months on the same fault. If it comes back, so do we.
Local, not a call centre
Calls are answered by our Colchester office, and engineers run set daily rounds — which is why repeat customers tend to see the same familiar faces.
